Ghislaine Carrier
                             Biography

Artist painter, writer 

Born in La Rédemption in 1945 in a small village in the Matapédia Valley. It's in 1968 that she gets married to Marcel Gagnon, artist painter today well known in the region. From her job of hairdresser, she soaks herself little by little in the artistic world around her.

It's in 1992, proud to have finished raising her four children that she decides to think about herself more. She dedicates herself finally to her passion for painting by training and participating to different realizations that give her more visibility in the art world.

Watercolourist

Her favourite techniques are watercolour and acrylic. Her paint brush when in contact with water and paint gives her an easier and spontaneous handling, which gives all its importance to the pigmentation. From this hand movement and this fusion are born subjects full of light and transparency.

Co-owner of Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon form 1984 to 1998, she devotes a part of her life to the management of the business. In 1993 she founds a publishing house (Édition du Grand Rassemblement). Where or she or Marcel Gagnon publish their own books.

«Route des Arts» (The road of the Arts)

In 2002 she becomes member of "Route des Arts" in Sainte-Flavie and is still an active member to this day. The same year she opens in her home her art workshop for people to discover her works of art. She exhibits all those years until 2007 when she is invited to share permanently one of the exhibit rooms at Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon.

Outdoor fresco

Among all of the achievements of Ghislaine, a new one is an outdoor fresco on the wall of an elementary school in Bucerias in Mexico this fresco is called "Vision maternelle" (Motherly vision) and was done for "Fondation d'art publique de Bucerias" (Public art foundation of Bucerias). 

Always confident and having never doubted herself and her talent, she now exhibits her works of art beside the works of art of the people she loves and invites you to share her great achievements with her...
