Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon situated in Sainte-Flavie Gaspésie is a real place for enchantment and a change of scenery.

Born form the initiative and the determination of the Gaspésien Marcel Gagnon, artist painter, sculptor and writer, he transformed a modest cottage in 1984 and created an art gallery and a small café snack-bar that developed along the years and with his determination. Since that day it has become a centre where art, the sea and good food are appreciated a lot by regional people and tourists passing through.

At the beginning managed by Marcel Gagnon and his spouse Ghislaine Carrier, this family type business was passed in 1999 to the hands of one of their four children, Guillaume Gagnon, he is also a artist painter from Gaspésie, and it still follows its tradition.

Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon is a the same time a cozy Inn, a relaxing dining room, a souvenir boutique, a reading corner and an art gallery. This same art gallery now reunites after 25 years of existence 4 artist painters: Marcel Gagnon, Guillaume Gagnon, Ghislaine Carrier and a new artist Jean-Pierre Gagnon, who joined this family of artists.

The coming of a 4th artist painter necessitated a bigger space and it's on the second floor of the art gallery where Jean-Pierrre Gagnon joined his family of artists.

Beside the art gallery we also associate to it the art and nature work unique world wide "Le Grand Rassemblement". The procession of sculptures or of life-size statues emerging from the Saint-Lawrence River and the ones that can be found here and there on the grounds of Centre d'Art.

The year 2009 has been for Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon a season of celebration because we are celebrating our 25th anniversary of existence. The season began with a big vernissage to which a very satisfying amount of people participated. The people invited as well as the art lovers, met the artist painters of the art gallery. It is with a lot of pride and enthusiasm that our 4 artists unveiled their new creations.

During the tourist season, laudatory testimonies from tourists coming from different parts of the world encouraged us to continue our work and develop our artistic side. With these encouragements, the words create, evolve and produce give us the willingness to take this beautiful challenge in the future.
