Presentation of our local artist painters

Painter since 1988 Guillaume Gagnon tries different ways to express himself. Along the years he creates small characters full of life and naivety. Discover his happy little colourful world through one of his works of art.

You will also find the works of art of the founding father of the Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon. Painter since 1973, he is constantly in artistic research and creates the nature art unique world wide "Le Grand Rassemblement". His paintings and his mystic sculptures will make you go through a range of feelings, we invite you to experience it...

The year 2009 has been for Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon a season of celebration and for a good reason, the business celebrated its 25 years of existence.

The season began with a big vernissage, it has been a success from all perspectives. A very large number of people gave art lovers the chance to discover or rediscover the art gallery. It now reunites 4 artist painters with the coming of Jean-Pierre Gagnon. It's one of the biggest art galleries in eastern Québec with more than 300 paintings in display. All professional artists, they each have a different artistic process and share the same passion for art.

Gaspésien painters

Marcel Gagnon, 36 years of artistic life, painter, sculptor, writer and founding father of Centre d'Art. Scenery painter at the beginning of his career he always continues to paint sceneries of Gaspésie and tries different styles: spatula painted flowers, characters with a very special collection where semi precious stones are inlaid as well to the paintings as to the sculptures. Recently, he rediscovered old drawings and surprised us with surreal works of art. His techniques are oil, acrylic and mixed techniques.

Naïve art artist painter

Guillaume Gagnon Gaspésien artist, he has been owner of Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon for 11 years. He has been painting for 21 years and he let's us discover his fascinating small world of bright colours full of happiness and spirit. He introduces his small characters through different Gaspésien sceneries to make lively and happy paintings. This naïve art high in colour gives life to his works of art and awakens the child in us.

Watercolour painter and writer

Ghislaine Carrier watercolour painter and writer, she has more than 20 years of artistic life. From the beginning of her career the artist painter discovers her great passion for watercolour and acrylic. She explores one after the other sceneries, flowers and portrait painting. The spontaneous fusion between water with the different techniques creates a happy mixture and gives life to subjects full of mystery, transparency and light. Like the artist, softness and femininity are represented in her works of art.

Figurative and impressionism art

Jean-Pierre Gagnon artist painter since 2001 his favourite technique is oil. His artistic personality inspired by the warmth of the Gaspésien sceneries: the coast, the bays and the old houses painted with a happy feeling. He likes to create worlds where we can stroll depending on our moods. The colourful skies where the clouds always leave a place for the sun where the houses serve as focal points in these full size sceneries. The buildings almost always curtailed, let us believe that the painting goes beyond its real limits. He let's us travel on the frontier between figurative and impressionism art.

Isabelle Gagnon

Another artist painter whose career is very promising, has been exhibiting for a short time, her works of art inside the walls of Centre d'Art, she is Isabelle Gagnon. The originality of her paintings makes us discover her passion for flowers thus feeding her overflowing inspiration. She especially paints with acrylic and sometimes uses mixed techniques.

In conclusion, Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon being at the base a family business, it has succeeded to join together the members of this same artistic family in one place and even more, it's always expanding.
